About Colwyn Bay Society

We provide a comfortable atmosphere, suitable for retired people who no longer want the worry of bills, shopping and cooking for themselves.

A place to relax and find companionship

The Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay Society celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. The Society was founded by Nell Street who was later awarded an M.B.E for her services to charity. The Society offers sheltered housing supported living for the elderly.

We provide a comfortable atmosphere, suitable for retired people who no longer want the worry of bills, shopping and cooking for themselves. Residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible, some of our residents still drive and some have found that surfing the internet has opened up yet another world.

The sheltered houses we run are set in mature attractive gardens, all situated within easy walking distance to local shops, supermarkets, bus stops and the promenade at Rhos on Sea. Also, with our close proximity to the Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful North Wales Coast, our location is perfect for your retirement.

Today Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay Society owns three houses in and around the Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea area, varying in size from 8 to 13 residents. These are all run to offer supported living for older people in a friendly and relaxed environment.
