Two of our residents from our homes at Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay have recently turned 100 with a special visit from the local school and cards from the Queen.
At Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay we have celebrated two special birthdays already this year. Our residents Anne Wiglesworth and Megan Pari Jones both celebrated their milestone 100th birthdays.
We were joined by Rydal Penrhos School who helped to make both days very special, with the children making beautiful birthday cards for both Anne and Megan, plus of course the very special card from Queen Elizabeth II.
Anne was presented with 100 daffodils and Megan was given 100 tulips by the children and they made huge banners to celebrate their special day. Tegin Goodman-Jones provided the entertainment - singing Ivor Novello to Anne and Calon Lan in Welsh to our Welsh speaker Megan.
At Abbeyfield Colwyn Bay we still want to make birthdays a special occasion during Covid. Anne and Megan both had a beautiful homemade cakes and we cooked the ladies' favourite meals served with their favourite tipples.
Residents and staff have now had their two Covid vaccinations so they are now allowed one household visitor which has made a huge difference to their wellbeing; Abbeyfield are looking forward to welcoming all family members in to each home when they are given the go ahead.
