Welcome to Abbeyfield House, Colwyn Bay

Abbeyfield House has been a part of Colwyn Bay for 50 years and our virtues are as important now as they were in 1969. We are proud to provide older people a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy later life whilst retaining their independence and sense of self.

Our home accommodates 12 residents in tastefully decorated rooms with en-suite facilities. We have one bungalow suitable for a couple plus a guest room for visiting friends and family wishing to stay.

Completing our home is a communal conservatory, dining room, hairdressing salon and large garden.

Close to our home is a bus stop which takes you to Colwyn Bay town centre, Rhos on Sea, Llandudno – Llandudno being the gateway to Snowdonia! We are just 10 minutes away from the sea front at Rhos Road where you can find charming tearooms to enjoy with visiting family or your fellow residents.

Dot
House Manager

Originally from Harlech, Dot has worked at Abbeyfield in Colwyn Bay since 2001. Dot looks on the residents as her family and makes everyone feel like it is their home from home.

Sara
Deputy House Manager

Local girl Sara has worked for Abbeyfield since 2012. Sara is well known in the House for her fabulous homemade desserts!

Chris
Domestic

Chris has worked for Abbeyfield since 2006, having moved to North Wales from Cambridgeshire. Chris takes pride in keeping the house spick and span and keeping on top of the residents laundry.

What's happening at the house

Events throughout the year

Throughout the year we host different events and encourage all of our residents to get involved. Be it afternoon tea at the local garden centre, trips to the beach or lunch at one of our favourite eateries, there is lots to get involved with.

Birthdays of our residents are always celebrated with cake and a glass of wine or sherry. And each Christmas we have a carol service to enjoy the festivities.
